Cowkull backpiece painting

The second piece I made for the Scapegoat backpiece art show was this
cow skull, shrike, and California poppies. I started with a rough
sketch, blew that up to the correct size, outlined it onto watercolor
paper and then just put in some hours. Here's a few progress shots I
took along the way, mostly to check how the contrast is working out. The
paper is 36 inches tall, and taking a photo of the progress on your
phone and looking at it on your screen seems to be the modern day
version of stepping back to see it at a distance.
This piece, too, is not yet claimed, and I would be stoked to make it as a backpiece for someone.
These were fun to make, and even though the art show is over, I'm going to continue making more. I'll be sure to post them here, on Instagram, and on my website.
